Top Chinese legislator Wu Bangguo arrived in Warsaw on Thursday, kicking off an official goodwill visit to Poland.
During his stay here, Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), will meet with Polish President Lech Kaczynski, Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, Senate Speaker Bogdan Borusewicz, and Ludwik Born, speaker of the Polish parliament's lower house.
In a written statement delivered at the airport, Wu said that China always attaches importance to its relations with Poland, expressing his hope that his visit would help deepen the friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
It is the first time for a top Chinese legislator to visit Poland.
Poland is the last leg of Wu's three-nation visit, which has already taken him to Egypt and Hungary.
