The U.S. dollar hit a three-month high in the upper 121 yen zone Wednesday in Tokyo.
At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 121.82-84 yen, compared with Tuesday's 5 p.m. quotes of 121.52-62 yen in New York and 121.44-47 yen in Tokyo.
It moved between 121.53 yen and 121.83 yen during the day, trading most frequently at 121.70 yen.
The euro remained strong against the yen, staying near its all-time-high of 163.94 yen. At 5 p.m., it traded at 163.55-59 yen and 1.3425-3427 dollars, against late Tuesday's quotes of 163.41-51 yen and 1.3443-3453 dollars in New York and 163.49-53 yen and 1.3460-3463 dollars in Tokyo.
